Playgrounds don't tend to have a lot of vehicular traffic, but do have a lot of precious foot traffic. Cracks in the concrete need to be repaired quickly and easily. Polyurethane repairs can be done in most any weather. Hairline Cracks
Sealing cracks on a concrete playground can be done simply using a polyurethane repair material available in a cartridge format. Make sure the crack is clean and free of moisture. Open cartridge and squeeze material directly into the crack. Use a scraper or straight-edge to smooth the concrete repair product out. Wipe up any excess material and allow to dry for 30 minutes. Now the crack is filled and ready for use.
Large Cracks
To repair a crack in concrete that is quickly widening, use a polyurethane Concrete Repair Product. This will provide a fast-setting repair that will be a stronger concrete crack repair with almost no interruption of playtime.
First ensure that the damaged area is clean and dry. Sweep or blow out cracks so there is no loose debris. If the cracks are more than 2 inches deep, place the aggregate provided in the package to fill in the deeper area of the crack, without going above the damaged area. Using a polyurethane concrete repair product, carefully pour contents of bottle "a" into provided 5-gallon bucket then add special sand. Next, shake bottle "b" thoroughly and pour into sand mixture. Mix with a paddle-mixer, using a drill. When mixture is completely wet, pour polyurethane concrete repair product onto damaged concrete and use a trowel or lute to smooth material into cracks. When repaired area becomes smooth, toss topping sand by hand over repaired area to create a uniform look and feel. The concrete playground can be re-opened in less than an hour.
